The playground is the only place at Hope Gardens for the little ones to play in a controlled and safe environment. It has been closed for six months due to needed repairs and a shortage of funds. One of our priorities Betty and I had since coming was to get it opened. This week the playground was opened. We are excited to tell you that one of our goals for Hope Gardens has come to fruition this week. The playground is now open for business… or… well, playing! Highlights From The Big Game

The underdog Eagles won what was certainly an exciting football game but that was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Super things that happened at the Iron Man Super Bowl party hosted by Pacific Coast Church and Deed and Truth! Super Bowl Highlights: Over 50 men came from the Union Rescue Mission to worship together with their mentors and friends in San Clemente. Adult men got a chance to play some flag football away from the pressures of skid row. New friendships were built by having meaningful conversations sharing their journeys in life. What are some concrete ways to demonstrate to a broken person, who has lived in an environment of violence and abuse, that they are truly a beautiful creation? This is what the 250 ladies and children at Hope Gardens Family Center desperately need and Deed & Truth has a plan. Sometimes words aren’t enough and you have to demonstrate love externally before hurting people grasp it internally. Deed & Truth wants to tell the women and children at Hope Gardens that they are beautifully and wonderfully made by a loving creator.
