"And he (Jesus) sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box.

Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny.

And he called his disciples to him and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box."

"For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on."

Our first donation came from the most unlikely of sources. It was an $11 gift and we will never forget how God used a woman much like the one in this story...

The $11 was given by a woman who had been experiencing homelessness.  When my wife first met her she was living at the beach in an old tent that leaked when it rained.  Upon building a relationship, we invited her into our home for a couple months to help her rebuild her life.

The second donation was also from her.  After taking her out for dinner, she handed us a check for $365. Why we asked?  With deep sincerity she said, "Because it was one year ago that you took me into your home and I have not been homeless since."

Your generous gift is an example of loving in deed & truth
