Building Educational Bridges

Updated: May 15

Higher education is a major need for inner-city students. Under-resourced parents need help to send their children to college.

Deed and Truth is supporting a local church partner to provide scholarships. John Whaley is the Senior Pastor at Cornerstone Community Church in Los Angeles. The leadership at his church has started a Student Scholarship Fund to provide parents, and their students who qualify, with financial aid.

In our Racial Reconciliation talks this last summer we talked to pastors in low-income neighborhoods about how to work together in race relationships. One suggestion that came from those talks was to help under-resourced students in the inner city with college scholarships.

We are pleased to contribute to help launch this new scholarship ministry. Thank you to those who support Deed and Truth as this is another way your donations are working to share the compassion of Christ as we work to build bridges to connect those who need help with those who want to help.
